The Steering Committee and Regular Meeting of Friends of Baldwin were held on April 6, 2009.  Chairman Dick Sute reported as follows:

The Wastewater bill in the Legislature regarding Baldwin Co. appears to be dead. However, a statewide bill which is actually better still has a chance of passing. More information will follow and members will be encouraged to support this bill.

Chairman Sute has met with Vince Calametti and asked to be kept informed about ALDOT plans for the I-10 - I-65 Connector.

A referendum for the Stormwater Plan will be held in a little over a year. Friends of Baldwin needs to develop an advocacy plan for the bill and members will be asked to educate the public about the importance of the plan.

Concern was voiced about the run-off from the Publix construction into Fly Creek and residents were encouraged to collect a dossier and send information to Chairman Sute.

Doug Holton announced candidates for District 22 legislative seat would appear on Thurs. night.

There is grant money available to do a study of Transferable Development Rights, but Commissioner Burt is opposed and Commissioner Bishop is uncertain of his position.
